He's a board-certified specialist who has gone above and beyond in his field. This means after completing dental school, he pursued additional, rigorous training in orthodontics and successfully passed demanding exams. This extra mile in specialization ensures unparalleled expertise in correcting dental and facial irregularities.

Unlike general dentists, who provide essential dental care but may have limited orthodontic training, a board-certified orthodontist like Dr. Lyons brings a higher standard of care and profound knowledge to your smile journey. Dr. Kan Tsunoda was born in Japan. His father dreamed of living in the United States of America. So back in 1989 they moved to North America where they established roots in this great country. He attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in Neuroscience. He then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic graduating Summa Cum Laude, Salutatorian, and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He went on to dental school at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Illinois, where he graduated with honors and received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry. Afterwards went on to complete his orthodontics residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), receiving a Master of Science in Oral Biology and Certificate in Orthodontics. Dr. Tsunoda also had the privilege of publishing scientific research in dental journals and was awarded by the American Association of Oral Biologists.

Dr Tsunoda absolutely loves to spend time with his family. He and his wife have 4 children, all daughters. They all either attend a University, High School, Middle school and Elementary school. Talk about driving all over the place! He enjoys outdoor activities, including camping, skiing, snowboarding, fishing, mountain biking and watching movies. Cold Play is one of his favorite bands.
